Write and Make Money Online
65Writing your way to success
Can you write?
If you can write you can make money. At least that's what the Internet sites tell you.You can freelance at any of these sites to bid and win a project. At the completion of which the project will pay you ready cash.
Well almost ready cash. You will still need to set up a Paypal account and transfer funds to the bank. There are a few new skills that you will have to learn, but they are quite simple and can be easily handled. It may cause you some initial hiccups, so be prepared for them.
Still it is very convenient and you can work from home. Working from home is an option that all mothers with small children can exercise. Yes there is time to do it even if you have small kids. If I can do it so can you.
I am not a resounding success story by any angle, but yes I do make my pocket money online. Enough to buy my family occasional small treats and indulge myself with some gifts I would not dream of buying from the house expenses money.
I am the sort of person who constantly needs some thing to happen in life or I get bored. I have been working part time since college and was working up to I got pregnant. Then I decided that the new adventure lay at home and decided to devote the next 5 years to my child. But by the time he was 3 I was ready to move forward
The only question was in which direction was I headed? A full time corporate job was out of the question as he was too young to be left alone for more than a few hours. A part time job barely paid enough for me to recover my car fuel costs. So I got started on working from home.
The Internet is a boon that our generation has which our moms did not. So make use of it. There is so much you can do. Writing is what i am concentrating on in this hub.

How Long Will It Take
Success is relative and so it will take a different amount of time for you to feel you have succeeded than I did. I still don't consider myself a success, but I feel i'm getting there. Maybe in a year or so my target will come within my grasp.
My short term personal measure of success was simple. I wanted to be able to earn the same as my next door school teacher neighbour. That too without leaving the house and sweating it out in the heat. Sitting at home and working at my convenience was what I was looking for. And this short term goal I have met.
Plus being some what a free spirit I loved the idea of being my own boss. And I was disciplined enough to work fixed hours. This was particularly simple as I only worked the three hours that my son was in play school in the mornings. Then I was available to be with him and attend to his needs. And I was persistent enough to chase my dream.
It took me about six months of half hearted bidding to get my first project, but success breeds success. The minute I tasted it I began to work harder and got other assignments in quick succession. I learnt on the job as I was new to the whole experience of blogging, but I love to write and so it was easy for me.
Currently I am on a break from paid assignments to explore other options which can allow me to build a passive stream of income. A term used by many Internet marketing experts and much maligned by now. Yet it seems the only one that come sto mind. Let me see if this experiment is as successful as starting to work from home as a freelance writer was.
So I am currently spending time and effort on Hubpages, Triond and Bukisa. In that order. Personally I love the interface and artistic freedom that hubpages gives you. As for the others they have their pros and cons and I am discovering them as I go along. Will keep you updated.

Some Sites You Can Join
- Triond - Publish Writing, Poetry, Music, Video & Content Online
Triond publishes user generated content on a network of websites, enabling users to reach a wider audience, gain more recognition and earn more revenue. Your content must be unique and never before published. - Join Hubpages
Hubpages are also a great place to make friends and earn money. Although I am yet to make any here as yet!:) I must say that the experience here is better than most other such sites. - Join Bukisa
Bukisa - Share your Knowledge, Earn Money. It can even be non unique content that you have published elsewhere. This means that if you have some hubs over here you can use the content there and make more money from it.
