this is good basic info but please don't expect to make lots of money straightaway & please don't give your photos away! Join iStock/Shutterstock by all means then spend a month or so, reading their tutorials, forums etc & get a feel for what they actually want from you. Holiday snaps & family photos won't cut it - they have strict quality control & if you don't do your legwork beforehand, you will get rejection after rejection. I used to submit to maybe 7 or 8 of these micro stock sites & I still get residual income although it is reducing over time as my portfolio ages & becomes buried in all the newer images. I wish you luck if you try but it's definitely not a fast way to earn money.

Xendra, very true. This is more of a slow process than instant money scheme. Although the longer you stay with it the better the rewards.
Annaw I am sure you will be able to pursue photography once you get into it with your whole being. I have added a list of digital cameras along with the photography books via an amazon capsule so that you get an idea of what kind of camera you can pick up.
