Scared?
The spookier the better seems to be the motto when designing Halloween costumes, but spooky may not always be safe. In this hub we take a look at some of the most popular and common costumes and what can go wrong with each one.
With Halloween around the corner the images of witches and ghosts and vampires come streaming in. Assembling each costume is a considerable task with much matching and mixing of materials and make up.
The trick to making a costume quirky and yet safe is to follow a general set of guidelines. This is what is given below.
Safety Tips for your Halloween Costume
On the right side you will see two costumes of the same character and one of them is safe and more practical than the other.
No trails
If you have a dress with a trail there is every likely hood that you or one of your friends is likely to step on it and rip up the dress. You may even trip over the trail and fall down hurting yourself badly. So if your costume has a trail abandon it.
No loose sleeves
Many costumes come with exaggerated loose sleeves. These are difficult to handle. They get into punch bowls and food way too easily. Dirty sleeves are not elegant. Also they have a tendency to get caught on sequins on somebody's dress who came too close to you.
No string blouses
Yes they look cool and sexy, but string blouses can prove disastrous if they do not hold. Imagine the material snapping at an inopportune moment. How are you ever going to live that down? Its going to be the story that everyone remembers from that party. Avoid that potential wardrobe malfunction.
No high heels
Remember there is considerable moving around in Halloween. Don't wear impractical shoes which will cause your feet to hurt. Besides high heels may hurt some one else you stamp on. They also spell disaster for trails. So if you have a trail make sure you don't wear high heels to compound the possible trouble.
Remember while its alright to be all spooky and scary on Halloween it is far better to be comfortable and relaxed. A funky costume with a whole lot of bits and parts is going to be difficult to handle. Keep it simple and have fun.
