Making Money Online on these Websites
94Making Money Online
Working Online
No matter how much is written about working online from home, it continues to be a hot topic. I just checked with the google adwords tool for the phrase "work from home" and saw that 2,240,000 more people had asked the same question globally this month. I guess making money is always a draw for most people. None of us are millionaires and yes that little extra cash does come in handy.
The work from home opportunities have increased dramatically since the time the internet took root. Today working from home has become an accepted social career. Finding legitimate work from home is no longer a problem. Sure there are some scams that take in the newcomer looking for work at home jobs, but it is possible to weed these out and concentrate on stuff that really allows you to make an income online.
Initially to earn extra cash people would take on data entry jobs from home. It is quite a regular feature even today, but its drone work. It is totally repetitive and there is no creative satisfaction. Which if you consider yourself a writer can be an absolutely frightening experience. I tried it and lasted for exactly one month. Hated every day of it.
Then come the work from home freelance sites. These allow you to bid on jobs and if the employer likes what he sees, you have a project to work on. The rates are all rather flexible. The same 500 word article can fetch you anything from $1 to $10 depending on who you are selling it to. If you can to KWP or Keyword Phrases well to figure in search engine result pages, you can ask for more money per article.
And then there are the membership sites. These allow you to make money online by chatting, gaming, or viewing ads. All of which take a very minimal level of intelligence. They also have online surveys that you get paid for. Unfortunately most of these sites are US centric and do not offer global work at home opportunities.

My share
Where you will find me
Now as I mainly earn money through freelancing I am to be found on Odesk, Elance, Guru, Rent a Coder, Get a coder and Get a Freelancer. I initially signed up for all the sites I could lay my hands on. Now I realize that it was not the great idea it seemed at the time. I have multiple mails coming in from all the sites and I am flooded with mails I take ages to sort out.
So despite having discovered new sites where I can find work such as problogger, wahms, and online writing jobs, besides i freelance, I have decided to stick with the few sites I am comfortable with. So as of now I have projects on in Guru, Elance, and Odesk. I also take up smaller projects on Rent a Coder as and when time permits.
Writing what others want you to write can be economically beneficial but is creatively frustrating. For creative freedom and poetry there is no place like Triond. I am very much present there, joined up in May first week. Have recently been paid for the month of May so, I know they are very prompt with the pay.
I am also to be found on Associated Content with just 4-5 articles. I did join them some time back, but found hubpages to be far more addictive. So I have more hubs here than I have content on Associated Content. On Bukisa with about 35 articles and almost a month, I am no where near their payment threshold of $10. So can't say if they pay or don't. Guess I'll write in an update when these two sites deliver.
UPDATE
Jan 2010 - Bukisa just paid up my first ten dollars. AC is still to get there.
Feb 2010 - AC just paid my dollar and half via paypal in six installments of cents as per each month's performance payouts.

CEO E.S.A.H.S. Association
thanks a lot cashmere another good one from you...i took notes of all the sites you've mentioned. thanks again.
Thank you for this valuable information on the various websites of which you are a member. I wrote down and circled Odesk, eLance and Guru of which I am a member of eLance.
I also had the idea to join a myriad of writing sites and settled on eHow and Hubpages. Associated Content, I have not published on will probably contribute to next.
Associated Content are paying between $5 and $10 to write a certain number of articles.
Triond, is an excellent writing site for creative prose however the pay is very low although they do pay promptly as you mentioned.
I have written about 150 articles on Triond and now only receive cents instead of dollars as on eHow and Hubpages. But if you are writing to be published, then Triond is OK.
Thank you for writing a hub as an answer to the question.
Thanks, cashemere, for this very comprehensive overview of the different sites and possiblities in the internet. I was not aware of most of them, I will bookmark it and check them out.
Great Hub! Thanks for all the information, especially with this economy, we can all benefit from some extra cash. I'm going to look into a few of these.

I'll see how it goes after 100. It must be hard in India when everything is so centered around the US. Best of luck to you.

With so many traditional jobs disappearing I wonder what is in store for those of us who make our livings online. More competition surely, but hopefully more opportunities as well. Thanks for the great list of sites. I'm to check them out.
No, i missed it. my account is with A Aryan. I read your article there, it seems you are just completing the formality of completing articles, i mean exactly 300 words u write.. Cmmon make them more useful after all they gone benefit you only. Like i did " human resource management " till now i got around 700 impressions and 35 clicks through that single article only... i mean thats great... expertscolumn rocks..:-)
Ezdia is also a freelancing site. It is similar to linkedin but additional feature of knowledge bucket where you can post your expertise. project owner search you through your expertise.

In addittion, I will say that for someone who wish to start making money online, Affiliate Marketing is a very good idea.
You just register with an affiliate site like Commission Junction and start using Google Adword to get referrals.
So I think affiliate marketing should be prescribed to a newbie who wish to start making money online.
Fantastic information. I have been writing at Xomba for over a year. http://www.xomba.com/referral/77789901. I always enjoyed it better here though. It seems very unfriendly there. I am going to check out the links you supplied. Thank you.
Thanks for the informative review on each sites. Great hub!
Thanks for the great list of sites Cashmere
Nice to see some links outside the USA. Too many people think the Internet is only USA.
Such a good article - I have been looking for an article with much information on the subject but I must say - this review is above and beyond :)
that is good, because i am outside of usa, thanks is article
Have associated content pay for non US resident? They ask my IRS. Of course, I have no IRS because I am not US.
It's interesting to see how people from different countries view different opportunities.
Thanks for a great Hub. Keep telling me where I get money ha ha ha
associated content also ask our IRS so I think AC just for US resident.
Very good info. I am trying a few different things myself.
Thanks for the helpful information. It will help newbies like me, keep it up..
This is a good informative article. Thanks!

Hi Cashmere,
What a terrific article! I will definitely be coming back to it. I write for Constant Content, one of the sites you linked to, and I love it! I consistently make $500+ per month, just writing part-time for Constant Content, so it is a great site. If anyone is interested in joining this site, click on the link in the article to sign up. THEN find this ebook "Sales Success on Constant Content" (www.expandingcreations.com/ebook/) which helps new authors discover all the submission guidelines and rules before making mistakes. This is definitely a terrific site for writers. I'm going to check out some of your other links, but I can certainly vouch for Constant Content!
I'm making good money writing for eHow so I'm glad you put them on here. Thanks for a great hub!
Thanks cashmere for the info but is bukisa a legitimate site..when i neared payout stage they banned my account and didn't even gave me any reason despite 4 letters to them and my blogs are still there on site.
Nice Job!! great Info. Thank You
cashmere, great information, I am on RedGage but I'm having trouble uploading photos. Do you have any suggestions?

I found the hub very informative with useful resources. Thanks.
This is a very good resource for any aspiring hub writer who wants to make a few bucks! Or even a few hundred bucks! Heh! Cheers!
Hey, great article! I've written a bunch of hubs on business ideas. Both online and offline. Check them out: http://hubpages.com/hub/Business-Ideas-to-Make-mon
nice article and I agree with you a lot of people looking for keywords about making money online
Great Information ;-)
Hey - what a great Hub. VERY useful. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great resource! There were quite a few in there I had never heard of. I'll definitely have to check out a few of those!
Hi!
Great hub there. I've been working on a lot of these freelance sites as well to include Guru, elance, ifreelance etc but am a regular on Guru mainly. Triond, bukisa etc seem good, but the number of views are pretty low. Bukisa doesn't seem to have too friendly a support staff, unfortunately.
Would definitely try out some of the other sites mentioned. Great hub absolutely. Will be recommending it to a lot of people who keep asking me!
Actually Helium is more for international writers.
This is really awesome and I, being a freelancer is able to knwo more on this. I have been freelancing for quite a long time and you can visit my profile in one of my favourite freelancing site.
Squidoo is also a good revenue sharing site.

thanks,
Paul
nice work
Thank you very much my friend, you are very kind in sharing this useful information with? others....
The details were such a blessing, thanks.
thanks for this great info
im a new to this field of online business and money making but i hope your article really helps
:-)
Nice hub! You are also absolutely right, the subject of making money online is always going to be intriguing to most, even if a person is only looking to make some side cash to compliment their primary income. Keep up the good work!
Interesting and informative article. However, I think there's a lot of hard work involved as a freelancer. Alongside this, why not build your own money-making website as an affiliate for a product? Once this is completed (possibly 1-2 days) you can get back to the other work while the website makes income for you, without having to touch it. Sounds good to me!
nice information...make money online is the better way to get money now....
Quite a few of us are indeed searching of sites which can help them earn money online yet does not know what site to put their trust on. Thanks for sharing this information because after reading your post it helps me realize that certainly the sites I used to come across are money maker. :)
This is wonderful as ever.
excellent list and i like your payment sharing information for more credibility !
Very interesting, thanks
Tremendous info. ....have been searching for exactly this kind of info for so long......you rock Cashmere.
