Chocolate icing is a weaknesses that I hope I share with the majority of you and this hub with five amazing recipes is about to prove it. Over the years I have collected many different kinds of chocolate and fudge icing recipes.

In fact every time I make chocolate cake its one of these five that I use to ice it with. Of course any combination of cocoa, milk, sugar and cream or butter will eventually come out in some form of chocolate but these are some pre fixed portions that make the results so much yummier.

There are some that I got from aunts and friends and some that I improvised on my own. Some people like their chocolate icing thinly set and some like it thick and gooey. I think you should be able to find one to your own personal taste in the five chocolate icing recipes that I share in this hub.

Madhu Aunty’s Fudge Icing

1 cup cream

1 cup shakar or brown sugar

4 tablespoons cocoa

1 tablespoon butter

Few drops vanilla essence

In a non stick pan put in the cream and the shakar and mix on low flame. Stir continuously so it does not burn or stick.

Add cocoa and let it boil for about two minutes. Now add the butter and vanilla essence and stir it well to get the glossy look.

Pour half the chocolate icing inside the sliced cake and the rest of the chocolate icing can be used to cover it on top.

Shubha’s Chocolate Recipe

1 cup Cocoa Powder

1 cup Milk Powder

1 cup Sugar

1 cup water

¼ cup butter

Bring sugar and water to a boil till sugar melts and you have the sugar syrup ready.

Add the milk powder and cocoa powder spoon by spoon into the sugar syrup.

Stir well and avoid leaving any lumps.

Once it is smoothened out use chocolate icing to ice the cake.

Use the thick chocolate sauce to ice cake before it cools.
